The orthodontic treatment can be started at every age. It is especially important in children,  because it helps to prevent some irreversible complications in adults.
There are a lot of different conditions which cause the development of occlusion defects, vitamin D deficiency, way of baby feeding, wrong situation of a child in bed, incorrect type of breathing, swallowing, talking, sucking habits and injuries.
Mesiclusion, distoclusion, open bite, buccal occlusion, crowded teeth, twisted or dislocated teeth - those defects very often influence the face aesthetics ( face profile, chin location, lip localization, etc ) and chewing function, but they also make the correct oral cavity hygiene harder to maintain, which causes the parodontium deceases, caries and even the teeth loss.
Such defects should be treated as soon as possible.
The movable orthodontic appliances are the ones that can be put on and off by the patient. They are usually used in treatment of children and youth. The effect of such treatment depends on the patient a lot. The mobile braces have to be put on and worn every day, in some cases even for 20 hours a day.
If the patient does not try hard enough, there won't be any effect. |
